What is a brushless controller

Brushless Controller is an electronic device used to control brushless motors. Brushless motor is a type of motor that achieves rotor rotation through an electronic commutator instead of a mechanical commutator. It has the advantages of high efficiency, high power density, and long lifespan. The main function of a brushless controller is to receive control signals and control the speed and direction of the motor based on the signals.

 

Brushless controllers typically include the following main components:

 

1. Power supply: Responsible for providing power supply to the controller and motor. Usually, a DC power supply is used, and its voltage and current need to be matched according to the rated parameters of the motor.

 

2. Control chip: The control chip is the core part of the brushless controller, responsible for receiving control signals and processing them. It can achieve functions such as speed control, direction control, acceleration and deceleration control of the motor.

 

3. Driver circuit: The driver circuit converts the output signal of the control chip into a motor drive signal. It usually includes components such as power amplifiers and power switches, used to control the phase current of the motor.

 

4. Sensor interface: Brushless motors usually require some sensors to provide rotor position information, so that the controller can accurately perform electronic commutation. The sensor interface is used to receive and process feedback signals from sensors.

 

5. Protection circuit: The protection circuit is used to monitor the working status of the motor and controller, and to provide protection in case of abnormal situations. Common protection functions include overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection, overheating protection, etc.

 

The selection and application of brushless controllers need to be determined based on the specific type of brushless motor and application requirements. When selecting a brushless controller, it is necessary to consider parameters such as motor power, current, and voltage, and select appropriate control and protection functions according to the requirements of the application scenario.
